SUSTAINABLE, ECOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT

As part of society, we take our responsibility seriously. We advise our customers according to ecological criteria, whereby we place great emphasis on the sustainable use of wood. With the forestry in Vinnytsia and our partner company Divario Ltd. (Ukraine) we have the entire development process – e.g. for oak products – in our own hands. This process begins with the seedling and continues through the harvesting of the raw wood, the production of semi-finished products, including the usage of the residual wood, right up to the finished window.

Oak growing

Huber Fenster AG directly supports the forestry in Vinnytsia (Ukraine). Oaks are grown there and then planted in tree nurseries in the forest.

Our label stands for continuous sustainability from the oaks growing, the production of the goods, right up to the use of the residual wood.

Heating with residual wood

The wood residues from the window production in Herisau and the production of semi-finished products in Vinnytsia are used as a source of heating energy for the company’s own production halls, drying chambers, and surrounding buildings.

Sustainable use of wood

With the forestry in Vinnytsia and our partner company Divario Ltd. (Ukraine) we have the entire development process – e.g. for oak products – in our own hands. Divario Ukraine is committed to sustainability in the region. The remaining pieces of residual wood are used to produce briquettes, which are sold for a low price to schools and public buildings in the area. This counteracts the dependence on fossil energy.

Solar power

Huber Fenster Ltd. already produces solar power in Herisau. A larger plant, which covers the entire power consumption of the company, is already planned.

The partner factory Divario Ltd. (Ukraine) generates clean electricity for its sustainable products. More electricity is generated than is required for the production of semi-finished products. The surplus of the electricity is fed into the local grid.
